Air Deccan Bags two awards from Frost

Bangalore, May 17 (UNI) Low cost Airliner Air Deccan has bagged two prestigious honours-- 'Company Of The Year' and 'CEO Of The Year' (2007) from Frost&Sullivan in the Indian Commercial Aviation sector.

Mr Deccan's Managing Director Capt G R Gopinath has been honoured with the Frost&Sullivan CEO of the year Award a statement said.

According to Frost and Sullivan ''with its low-cost model and aggressive strategic intent, Air Deccan has revolutionised air travel in the country and has brought about a positive change in the minds and hearts of passengers for whom air travel was just a dream'' a few years ago. For this and for the bright prospects which Air Deccan holds, the airline deserves the 2007 Frost&Sullivan Indian Commercial Aviation Company of the Year award, the statement added.

''Capt. Gopinath, for what he has done with Air Deccan in specific and to the entire aviation industry in general and more importantly to bringing every Indian closer to that dream of flying deserves the 2007 Frost&Sullivan Indian Commercial Aviation CEO of the Year Award'' the tatement said.

Capt Gopinath, commenting on the honour, said the awards were an encouragement for Air Deccan's pioneering efforts to make air travel affordable and accessible than ever before. They reinforce the message that Air Deccan was the passenger's preferred choice. Air connectivity was the key to harness the vast potential of our country and a harbinger of development, employment and prosperity to a region he said adding the need of the hour therefore was to develop effective infrastructure and air connectivity throughout the country.
