2 naxalites shot dead

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, May 17 (UNI) Police today claimed to have shot dead two naxalites and arrested another in an encounter near Dantewada district town this morning.

The naxalites were yet to be identified, police said, adding two rifles were recovered from the spot.

Dantewada SP Rahul Sharma said on a tip-off about the presence of naxalites on Dantewada-Balud road, a police party was proceeding to the spot when naxalites attacked them near Aadesh school. Police countered it killing two naxalites on the spot.
