17 CRPF officers pass out from Internal Security Academy

Mount Abu, May 17(UNI) In an impressive ceremony, 17 CRPF officers passed out from the portels of the Internal Security Academy(ISA) in Mt Abu.

The passing out of the parade marked the culmination of 25 weeks of rigorous training for the departmental entry gazetted officers.

Mr Nagendra Singh, director of the ISA while addressing the officers on the occassion asked the officers to rise to the demanding role and expectations of the nation. Mr Singh recalled the saga of valour and bravery exhibited by the CRPF at Hot Springs on Oct 21, 1959, defending the Sardar Post on April 9, 1965 during the Indo-Pak war, tackling militancy in Punjab in the 80's and recent one of thwarting the fidayeen attacks on Parliament(Dec 2001) and in Ayodhya (July 2005).

Exhorting them to lead from the front by setting personal examples Mr Singh emphasised the need for continuously updating professional knowledge so as to grasp the changing paradigms of internal security so as to formulate effective strategies of preparedness.

The passing out parade was commanded by Assistant Commandant Mr Baljinder Singh who was also adjudged as the 'Sword of Honour' for being the best allround officer trainee. The director also presented trophies to Assistant Commandents Mr Anurag Raj (Best in Indoor Subjects), Mr Jagdev Singh (best in Outdoor subjects) and Mr Mithlesh Kumar , Mr Rajkumar Majhlia and Mr Girish Kumar Sonthil winners in various competitions.
