145 theft cases at Delhi airport, nil at Kolkata in 2006
New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) The number of theft cases at Delhi airport doubled to 145 in 2006 from 72 the preceeding year, while no case was registered at Kolkata airport during this period, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, in a written reply, said the Ministry plans to increase the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) coverage intensively in the airport premises as well as better upkeep of security gadgets.
The Minister, however, failed to furnish the number of cases that were been solved.
