VMC assistant auditor gets one year in jail in bribery case

Vadodara, May 16 (UNI) A local court today sentenced assistant auditor of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) to one year simple imprisionment in a bribery case.

Sessions Court Judge P R Patel sentenced Ajit Kumar Gunjal to one year in jail and also fined him Rs 1,000.

Gunjal was arrested by the ACB on September 1, 2002 for demanding a bribe of Rs 500 from labour contractor Rajesh Tulsidas Baraeliwala to pass a bill of Rs 31,000.

He was arrested on the basis of Rajesh's complaint.
