Valuables 12 lakh stolen from NRI's house in Phagwara

Phagwara, May 16 (UNI) Some unidentified burglars broke into the house of an NRI in Model Town last night and decamped with valuables worth Rs 12 lakh, police today said.

According to police, Ms Karam Kaur, who had recently returned from USA, had said in her complaint today that some unidentified burglars broke into her house when she and her family were asleep and stole gold ornaments weighing about half kg, Rs 25,000 in Indian currency and 15,000 US dollars besides two passports and other valuables.

The police, after registering a case of theft, had started the investigations. Fingerprint experts were summoned and a dog squad was also pressed into service this morning but no arrests have been made so far.
