TTD stresses on amenities for pilgrims
Tirumala, May 16 (UNI) TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy today stressed the need to provide additional services to the pilgrims of the famed Lord Venkateswara temple here by Srivari Sevaks without any self-interest and with devotional commitment.
Speaking at a Srivari Sevak meeting here, he said the volunteers were providing valuable service at various departments of TTD since the last seven years.
Mr Reddy underlined the need to create an awareness among the pilgrims about the Pilgrims Amenities Complex (PAC), which provided free accommodation to up to 10,000 pilgrims, stating that most pilgrims stayed on platforms and in gardens as they were not aware of the facility.
Later, the TTD Chairman flagged off a mobile van for shifting pilgrims to PACs from pavements and open places. Nearly 50 pilgrims were then shifted to the PAC through mobile van by the Srivari Sevaks.
About 1,200 Srivari Sevaks from five States took part in the meet.
