Traffic restored on Manali-Leh road

Kullu, May 16 (UNI) The Border Road Organisation (BRO) today said vehicular traffic had been restored on the Manali-Leh road, which had remained closed for over five months due to heavy snowfall.

The road had been thrown open for movement of traffic after clearing the snow and undertaking necessary repair work, Commander of 38 Border Reserve Task Force Naresh Mittal told reporters here.

He said the road from Rohtang to Lahaul had also been opened for vehicular traffic.

However, the road from Rohtang to Spiti was still out of bounds as snow clearing and repair works near Kumzum Pass were still on.

It was also expected to be opened soon, he added.
