Textile mills not to run as JVs: Minister

Chennai, May 16 (UNI) Union Minister for State for Textiles E V K S Elangovan today said his senior Shanker Sinh Vaghela had given the approval for withdrawing a proposal for running Coimbatore Spinning and Weaving Mills and Sharada Mills here as joint ventures.

An official release here said these mills will be operated by the National Textiles Corporation (NTC) as before.

The decision has been taken considering the views expressed by Members of Parliament from Tamil Nadu and NTC Worker's Union who met Mr Elangovan and gave a representation in this regard.
