New Delhi, May 16: The Telugu Desam Party MPs today staged walk-out in Rajya Sabha, protesting against the denial of opportunity to raise an issue concerning the interest of Andhra Pradesh.

Soon after the Question Hour, when TDP members led by Mr C Ramachandraiah wanted to raise the issue, the Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan said the Chair had not allowed any notices for zero hour mentions. It could not be made out the issue they wanted to raise.

The TDP MPs contended that they had sent notices but Mr Khan said that by giving notices the could not presume the issue could be raised automatically. When the TDP MPs persisted with their demand vigorously, there was opposition from ruling party member and the the Chair pacified him saying that nothing had gone on record and he should have no reason for agitation.

Disappointed TDP MPs walked out of the House, paving way for the Rajya Sabha to take up Special Mentions.
