Hyderabad, May 16 (UNI) Sikhs in this cyber city today strongly protested over Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Rahim Singh donning the dress of 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.

Sikhs of 17 gurdwaras took out a rally here and held a demonstration against what they called was an onslaught on Sikhs.

Sikh leaders wanted a stringent action against those indulging in anti-Sikh activities.

Mr Ajit Singh 'Pradhan' (President) of the Ameerpet Gurudwar Prabandhak Committee told UNI that Rahim Singh was claiming to be the re-incarnation of Guru Govind Singh and Sikhs all over the world were protesting against the blasphemy.

He said the Committee had organised a rally, relay hunger strike and demonstrations in association with other Gurdwaras in the city.

Trouble had started in Bhatinda on Monday after a controversial advertisement appeared in some newspapers, showing the Dera chief Rahim Singh alias Premiji in the attire of Guru Gobind Singh.

Sikh organisations, including SGPC, termed this a 'blasphemous act'.
