Select metal prices rise
Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy and brass utensils inched up by Rs 100 per quintal each on increased demand.
In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bars went up by Rs 200 per quintal on heavy demand from retailers.
Tin slab came down by Rs 15 per kg on thin buying support. Nickel cathode rose by Rs 25 per kg on reduced stock supply.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,500, Copper utensils - Rs 31,500, Brass utensils - Rs 25,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 39,100, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slabs - Rs 20,000, Lead ingots - Rs 9,950, Tin slab - Rs 735 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,300 (per kg).
