Sarpanch killed in MP village
Ujjain, May 16 (UNI) A sarpanch has been gunned down due to political enmity at Dugarkheda village in this district, police said today.
Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad said political rivalry existed between sarpanch Anandilal Kumawat and Badri Yadav over 'sarpanch' elections.
A petition was also filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court in this regard.
Kumawat was gunned down by Badri and his friends while he was sleeping yesterday.
The sarpanch's family members had lodged a complaint against five people.
Tension prevailed in the area after the incident and police force was deployed in the area.
One accused, Jagdish Anjana has been arrested, while others were absconding.
