Rains, winds cool Delhi
New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) Strong winds and a sudden burst of heavy rains this evening cooled down Delhi, bringing Delhiites much needed relief from the scorching heat of the last two days.
The rains and strong winds, blowing at a speed of 40 km per hour, hit Delhi at 1815 hours, bringing the mercury down by several degrees, thus ushering cool air in the capital.
After a cool weather for the last over a week, scorching heat conditions have returned to torment Delhiites since yesterday as the mercury shot up to 42.7 degree Celsius yesterday, the highest for the season.
Weathermen attribute the rain and thundersqualls to the influence of a fresh upper air circulation.
Infact, weathermen have forecast more rains and thundershowers in Delhi, accompanied by squalls, during the next 48 hours.
They have also forecast a drop in day temperature in the Northwest region during the next few days.
