Rain to occur in Northern states

Pune, May 16 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

They are also likely to occur at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Dry weather will prevail over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujrat State, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema and Karnataka.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Tamil Nadu, at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, north west Rajasthan and in remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Hot day conditions prevailed at isolated places in Punjab. Day tempratures were apprreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, south Chhattisgarh, in remaining parts of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and north west Rajasthan.

The temperatures were above normal in Punjab, south east Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Rayalseema and coastal Karnataka. They were appreciably to markedly below normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagalana, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, north Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, south Gujarat Region and Madhya Maharashtra.

They were below normal in south west Rajasthan, north Gujrat Region, Marathwada and Vidarbha, while they were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains had occurred at many places in Arunachal Pradesh.

Very light rain occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Tamil Nadu, Andman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers had occurred at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir.

They also occurred at few places in Orissa and Jharkhand. They occurred at isolated places in Sub-Himalyan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, west Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Dry weather prevailed over the Gangetic West Bengal, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujrat State, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
