Phoenix Yule commissions Conveyor Belt to increase capacity

Kolkata, May 16 (UNI) Phoenix Yule Ltd, manufacturer of conveyor belts in South Asia, has announced the installation and commissioning of another conveyor belt press at their factory in Kalyani.

A company release said the German-Major has installed a 15-meter- long Steel Cord Belt Press Line. This investment in Steel Cord Production would enhance the capacity by 150 per cent.

This is the second steel cord production of the company, which comes with an investment of Rs 28 crore and will significantly contribute to the growth and turnover of the company, it added.

The new Steel Cord Belt Press, after its installation, would result in higher productivity on account of redeployment of manpower, multiskilling, outsourcing of non-core functions and optimising cycle time.

The project has been successfully completed within a record time of eight months. The trial production has been flagged off on May 5.

''The operation of the new press is aimed at enhancing production capacity to meet the increasing demand of customers and enhancing productivity at large,'' Phoenix Yule Ltd Managing Director T K Mukherjee said.
