One killed, two injured in accident

Kolkata, May 16 (UNI) A thirteen-year-old school student was killed and two others were seriously injured when a car dashed them at Chetla in south Kolkata today.

Police said the accident occurred when twin brothers-Lob and Kush, class eight students of Chetla Boys High School, were going to school along with their mother while a speeding Maruti car rammed into them at Chetla Central Road under Alipore police station.

While Kush died on the spot, Lob and their mother, both critically injured, were taken to hospital.

The driver of the car and another passenger have been arrested.

Soon after the incident, an angry mob resorted to vandalism and pelted stones on some vehicles in the area.

They also organised a road blockade in the place where security had been tightened, police added.
