Now, luxurious mobile royal palaces to ply on Delhi roads

New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) After the Palace on wheels in Jaipur, another luxury vehicle seeking to promote heritage tourism in India was unveiled in the Capital today.

Seeking to bring alive the rich cultural heritage of India among travellers worldwide is the 'Royal Time Machine', a specially customised vehicle launched on the Delhi tourist circuit.

Launched by TRTM Tourism Private Limited, a privately-owned luxury travel and hospitality company, the 'Royal Time Machines' are virtual ''mobile royal palaces'', which provide to the travellers a unique blend of royal ambience of the bygone eras and the hi-tech modern amenities.

Addressing a press conference to launch the luxury vehicle, TRTM's promoter Suparna Chopra said,''travellers today are seeking experiences they can cherish through their lives. The Royal Time Machine aims to provide such a commemmorative regal experience showcasing India's rich cultural heritage the way it hasn't been showcased to the world ever before.'' Complete with plush interiors and a host of world class amenities, the vehicle will enable the high-end tourists to travel through time and revisit the golden era in Indian history in an ambience of royal luxury.

The ''Royal Time Machines'' will have two different themes, the 'Rajput' and 'Mughal' periods. According to its theme, the Royal time machine will give a glimpse of that era with paintings, chandeliers, hukkas, surahis, lamps etc. Further, in a bid to create a truly royal experience, the entire staff will be dressed in styles reminiscent of that period.

According to the director of the venture, Shivani Chopra,''these mobile royal palaces make the royal era come alive. In a way, it is an endeavour on our part to promote India's rich cultural heritage among the Global community.'' ''When we go abroad, we tend to realise that our culture is so much more rich compared to other countries. It it this desire to bring forth the richness of our culture to the world community that gave rise to this venture,''she added.

Originally meant to have 55 seat, the Royal time machines will accommodate not more than 19 people so as to provide the best of comforts to its customers.

''The Royal Time Machine will take tourists for guided tours of the city, in the mornings and evenings, during which it would stop at relevant monuments and archaeological sites like the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Lodi gardens, Safdarjung Tomb, Humayun's Tomb and Lotus Temple,''Shivani Chopra said.

The tour packages are priced at 160 US Dollars for the morning tours and 165 US Dollars for the evening tours. The fee will include all costs associated with the tour including entry fee of the monuments, drinks and snacks on board, service charges and applicable taxes.

In the first phase, two Royal Time machines are being launched in Delhi.

''There are plans to expand the service to cover the Golden Triangle, comprising Agra and Jaipur, by next year. The planned investment in the project is to the tune of Rs 40 crores over the next five years,''Ms Suparna Chopra said.
