Notorious criminal lynched to death

Mandsaur, MP, May 16 (UNI) A criminal, who hacked to death two villagers for giving evidence against him in a theft case, was lynched to death by villagers.

The incident took place at Kotda Akya village in Shamgarh area of this district on Monday night, police said today.

Toofan Singh Saudhiya's family members refused to accept his body and the police performed the last rites.

Superintendent of Police R K Choudhary said Toofan had slashed the throat of Mangu Singh (50) and Ragunath Singh Saudhia Rajput while they were sleeping outside their house on Monday night.

Later, he attacked Vikram Singh, who was sleeping nearby, with an axe but Vikram escaped unhurt.

As a scuffle ensued between Vikram and Toofan, villagers woke up and pelted stones on Toofan.

Toofan was wanted in connection with several cases of murder, loot, theft and assault.
