Nomination for Daltonganj bypolls scrutinised

Daltonganj, May 15 (UNI) The scrutiny of nomination papers filed for the June 2 Daltonganj Assembly bypolls was done today with no cancellations.

Sub-Divisional Officer-cum-electoral officer for the by-elections Awdesh Upadhyay said the nominations of all the 26 candidates were accepted, including former Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari and JD(U) candidate Neelu Mishra.

About 26 candidates had filed their nomination papers and fifteen nominations had been filed yesterday only.

The last date for withdrawal of nomination is May 18.

The by-elections slated on June 2 was necessitated after sitting MLA and JD(U) leader Inder Singh Namdhari resigned from the seat on March 29.
