New Centre of Excellence in Life Sciences inaugurated

Bangalore, May 16 (UNI) The US based PALL Corporation, a global leader in providing total fluid management solutions to both life sciences and industrial sector, has launched a state-of-the-art New Centre of Excellence to serve fast growing life sciences market.

Speaking after launching the world-class facility, first of its kind in the country, Mr Ken Frank, President PAll Biopharmaceuticals Global, said that the facility was in the line of global technical set-up designed to provide leading-edge solutions in life sciences spanning biopharmaceutical research, development and production.

The centre included a state-of-the-art process proteomics laboratory tailor-made specifically to help customer speed up drug discovery process. The centre also included a training facility and a validation laboratory with specialty experts to support Indian and regional customers as they increasingly enter the stringently regulated drug export market Mr Frank said.

The new facility would help to facilitate the life sciences industry in the country and the region and apply the latest technologies to their operations and to bring new and innovative drugs to market more efficiently, Mr Frank said.

Dr M R S Rao, President of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) who spoke on the occasion lauded the Pall Corporation for setting up its facility here and expressed confidence that it would help to make an inroad into the discovery of new molecules and drugs.

Mr Ken Harris, President Pall BioSciences, worldwide, who also spoke on the occasion has said that India's diverse market opportunities coupled with a large pool of qualified scientists and engineers has provided an ideal climate for fueling innovation and growth. The Indian Pharmaceutical industry was one of the fastest growing market in the world and biopharmaceutical industry throughout Asia was experiencing a major surge in activity.

The new centre would provide the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and discovery markets through the region with a full range of total fluid management solutions to help its diverse customer base and help them to achieve their goals, he said. The centre of excellence led by a highly specialised team of professionals, joins other Pall Life Sciences Centers of Excellence throughout Europe and the western hemisphere in bringing together the latest technologies with process optimisation knowledge and expertise Mr Haarris said.
