Minor girl raped in city

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, May 16 (UNI) A 12-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped by an unidentified youth in Mundwadi area of the city, police said, The youth had picked up the minor girl, when she was sleeping beside her aunt in front of her house early yesterday, police sources said. He lifted the girl after putting his hands on her mouth and took her to an area near the Beed Bypass, where he assaulted her physically and sexually, before escaping from the scene.

The girl's aunt raised an alarm and residents started searching for her. The girl returned after three hours. She was so much scared that she did not tell anyone about what had happened. However, in the morning when the aunt asked her about the fresh scars on her, she narrated the whole episode. Following this, the girl was taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital, where the doctors confirmed sexual assault on her.

The police have launched a hunt for the youth.
