Milk prices to go up in Pondy

Puducherry, May 16 (UNI) The Puducherry Cooperative Milk Producers Union has decided to enhance the price of "PONTLE" milk from May 20.

According to offical sources, toned milk, hitherto sold at Rs 12 a litre would cost Rs 14, standard milk Rs 16 instead of Rs 14 and premium milk Rs 18 per litre from Rs 15.

The sources said PONTLE had not hiked the milk price during the last five years despite increase in cost of packaging, transpor and even procurement price during the period.
