Man gets life-in-prison for killing an elderly woman

Patna, May 16 (UNI) A local sessions court today sentenced a person to life imprisonment for killing an elderly woman.

Additional district and sessions judge of Patna B M Srivastava found guilty Vijay Paswan, a resident of Sigriyama village under Shahjahanpur police station, for killing one Rampati Devi of the same village.

According to the charges, Rampati Devi succumbed to multiple injuries after she was allegedly hit by a heavy instrument by the convict on July one, 2003.

The reason behind the killing was said to be land dispute.
