LeT militant killed in Thannamandi, Rajouri

Jammu, May 16 (UNI) A militant of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit was gunned down today at Thannamandi in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, defence spokesman said.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of 43 Rashtriya Rifles, 165 TA Battalion and police launched a search operation at Baanj area, 5 km north east of Thannamandi, wherein they killed a militant Saifullah after a fierce gun battle this afternoon, Defence spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami told UNI.

One AK-56, three hand grenades and a radio set were recovered from the site of operation, he informed.
