JK govt urges construction of roads on war footing in double shifts
Jammu, May 16 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has urged contracters to construct roads on a war footing in double shifts and complete them within the stipulated timeframe so that the public does not face any inconvenience.
In order to provide regular traffic, Minister for Roads and Building Gulchain Singh Charak today inspected the ongoing construction work of the Janipur-Ambghrota, Bishnah, Dabbered, Prithipur and Vijaypur main roads.
Mr Charak asked the engineers to repair city, main, and rural areas roads on a war footing basis. The present government has been making concerted efforts to connect every village of three regions of the state with the towns and city, he added.
While
directing
engineers
to
speed
up
construction
and
upgradation
work
on
all
the
road
projects
taken
in
different
schemes
before
the
rainy
season,
the
minister
said,
''there
will
be
no
compromise
on
the
quality
of
work
and
any
lapse
in
this
regard
shall
be
dealt
with
stern
action
being
taken
against
the
executing
agencies.''
