JD(S) contest in Ullal will not affect BJP's chance: BJP
Bangalore, May 16 (UNI) The coalition partner Janata Dal (Secular) fielding its candidate in the June two byelection to Ullal Assembly seat will not affect the prospects of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, BJP state President Sadananda Gouda said today.
Reacting to last minute decision of JD(S) to reject BJP's appeal for support in the byelection and field its candidate, Mr Gouda told UNI that "it will not hamper the chances of BJP candidate Mr Chandrashekhar Uchil winning the election." He said that Mr Uchil lost 2004 election by narrow margin and this time he has bright chances. Many BJP leaders who had deserted the party in the last elections have returned and working for the success of the party candidate, he added.
