Janani Suraksha Yojana in MP

Bhopal, May 16 (UNI) More than 4.65 lakh women have been benefited thus far by a Janani Suraksha Yojana that aims at lowering the maternal and infant mortality rates in Madhya Pradesh.

Another scheme with the same objective is a Transport and Treatment Scheme for delivery, official sources said.

The amount being doled out to rural women who go for institutional delivery has been doubled to Rs 1,400. The amount is Rs 1,000 in urban areas.
