ITIs to be upgraded in MP

Bhopal, May 16: Fifteen industrial training institutes in Madhya Pradesh are being upgraded as centres of excellence with the Central government pooling in 75 percent assistance and the state government contributing 25 percent for the upgradation work.

The object of the upgradation was to cater to the industrial sector's requirement for skilled technicians, official sources said.

The ITIs to be upgraded as centre of excellence include ITI-Indore as industrial sector and automobile industries, ITI-Bhopal for information technology, ITI-Jabalpur for garment making, ITI-Dewas for production and manufacturing, ITI-Gwalior for electronics, ITI-Rewa for construction industries, ITI-Chhindwara for food processing and ITI-Raghogarh for industrial sector agriculture machinery mechanic.

Similarly, ITI-Seoni would be upgraded as centre of excellence for industrial sector automobile, ITI-Mandla as construction and wood working, ITI-Bhopal Gas Relief as refrigeration and air conditioning, ITI-Ratlam as electrician training, ITI-Jhabua as fabrication, fitting and welding, ITI-Singrauli as process plant maintenance and ITI-Shivpuri for tourism sector.
