Inebriated persons attacked OBCFC office, claims police

Dharmshala, May 16 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Police today claimed to have resolved the ransacking of the Other Backward Class and Financial Corporation (OBCFC) office on Sunday, saying 10 to 12 people attacked the office in an inebriated state after someone dared to reach for him there.

Kangra DSP Ajit Singh Thakur told UNI here that the arrested persons during their interrogation revealed that they attacked the OBCFC's office after a caller dared them to reach him there.

He, however, said neither the telephone number has been traced nor the caller identified as of now.

However, OBCF Chairman and local legislator Surender Kaku rejected the police theory that a few people had ransacked the office under the influence of liquor.

He said if this was correct then the police should have traced out the telephone number and the caller to reach at the bottom of the incident.

''I was on my way to PGI, Chandigarh when the incident took place. Had I been in the office, things would have been more serious.'' Meanwhile, a local court here remanded two people arrested in the incident to police custody for another day, while extending the interim bail of other five suspected people up till Friday.

Parveen Rana, Sachin, Omkar Singh, Vikas and Narinder Patial have been directed to corporate with the police in the investigation of the case.
