In-charges for every district to oversee SSA implementation

Hyderabad, May 16 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA)and Adult Education M Hanumantha Rao today said his department has decided to appoint In-charges for every district to oversee the implementation of educational programmes under SSA.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the In-charges would review the programmes on a monthly basis in every district and send their reports to the state headquarters.

He said the two-day review meeting of the SSA programme, conducted on May 14 and 15 with the Project Officers and Additional Project Coordinators in the State, decided to implement the programmes in a transparent manner and decided measures to be taken for the implementation of the programmes in the current financial year.

Mr Rao said that for the maintenance of accounts in both district and State level, the department had ordered the district officials to utilise Tally software and implement the double entry system in a systematic way.

He said instructions had been issued to complete the construction of school buildings, started last year, before the start of academic year and take up construction of new buildings.

He said the residential bridge camps for dropouts in the State would be strengthened and priority would be given to children who studied in residential bridge camps in the hostels to continue their studies.
