Gautam's candidature BJP's internal matter: Scindia

Gwalior, May 16 (UNI) Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia today declined to comment on the BJP's decision to field rebel party candidate Ganesh Gautam's for the June 2 Shivpuri assembly by-poll, saying it was the saffron party's internal matter.

Gautam, who twice fought on the Congress ticket, filed his nomination papers as a BJP candidate yesterday while the Congress has fielded Virendra Raghuvanshi against him.

Mr Scindia said the people of Shivpuri will have to decide who could follow principles and prove helpful for their development.

He asked the state government to re-start stone quarries in Shivpuri at the earliest.

Mr Scindia said a proposal, worth Rs 50 crore, for development of ponds in Shivpuri under the National Ponds Conservation scheme has been sent to the Centre.
