Gautam's candidature a personal matter: Scindia

Gwalior, May 16 (UNI) Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia today described fielding of rebel party candidate from the BJP for assembly by-election in Shivpuri constituency as a personal matter.

Refusing to make a direct comment on the matter, Mr Scindia said now the people of Shivpuri had to decide who could follow principles and prove helpful in their development.

The Congress had fielded Mr Virendra Raghuvanshi as its candidate. Mr Gautam had contested twice on Congress ticket against BJP leader Yashodhara Raje Scindia.

He demanded the state government that stone quarries in Shivpuri be re-started at the earliest.

He said a proposal, worth Rs 50 crore, for development of ponds in Shivpuri under the National Ponds Conservation scheme had been sent to the Centre.
