FICCI, Europlace host joint seminar

Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (FICCI) and Paris Europlace International Financial Forum here today jontly organised a seminar on ''European Financial Markets: Opportunities and Value Creation'' to initiate closer cooperation and develop joint programs with Mumbai finacial center.

Over 200 high profile representatives from the Mumbai financial community along with senior executives from the Paris finacial market, discussed new developments in India and European markets.

The Governor of Banque de France, Cristian NOYER, opened the forum, highlighting the prospects and opportunities for Indian investors in European financial markets.

While addressing the seminar, RBI Deputy Governer Dr Rakesh Mohan while emphasising the Central bank's policies said, ''The Indian Central bank has taken initiatives to develop Money market and Capital market in its current policy and paying key interest to promote finacial market.'' Mr Noyer underlined that Paris Europlace is launching a financial services cluster dedicated to financial innovation and the setting up of high added value projects between academics, researchers and market professionals, in which the Paris financial marketplace will offer to initate closer cooperation and develop joint programms with Mumbai international financial centre.

''We like to propose new cooperation with new Mmumbai International financial centre. Paris finacial center currently offers the best opportunities and environment to invest in Europe and Paris financial marketplace offers to initiate closer cooperation and develop joint programs with the Mumbai financial center,'' Mr Noyer said.
