Fake travel documents: Three arrested

Chennai, May 16 (UNI) The Central Crime Branch police arrested two persons for attempting to fly to Dubai on fake travel documents from the Anna International Airport here today.

An employee of a private travel agency who had helped them secure the documents was also taken into custody.

Police said immigration authorities found the travel documents submitted by Vinukumar and Tajudeen of Nagercoil as fake. They had come here to board the Dubai-bound flight.

On interrogation, the duo pleaded innocence and said they were given these documents by one Shajahan, an employee of a private travel agency.

Police immediately arrested Shajahan and seized six fake passports, 17 fake visas, two flight tickets and rubber stamps of Protector of Immigrants.

Preliminary enquiries revealed that the travel agent had arranged fake travel documents to 13 people aspiring to work abroad.
