Eight Gypsy jeeps added to Police Control vehicles
Chandigarh, May 16 (UNI) In order to increase the effectiveness of Chandigarh Police Control Room (PCR), eight Gypsy jeeps were added to its fleet of vehicles here today.
Adviser to the Administrator, Mr Lalit Sharma flagged off the new vehicles at Police Headquarters. Home Secretary Krishna Mohan, Inspector General S K Jain, DIG Vivek Gogia, SSP Gaurav Yadav, SSP (Traffic) A S Ahlawat and many other officer were present on the occasion.
With this induction, the number of PCR vehicles of Chandigarh police has gone up to 74 from 66. These include 38 jeeps, 35 motorcycles and one trauma ambulance.
Under the modernization scheme, Chandigarh Police plans to totally revamp and upgrade its PCR with cutting edge modern technology.
