DMK's Radhika Selvi to be inducted as MOS
New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) Consequent to the sudden resignation of Mr Dayanidhi Maran the Minister of Information Technology and Communications, DMK MP Radhika Selvi will be inducted as Minister of State in the Union Council of Ministers on May 18.
Ms Radhika, who represents the Tiruchendur constituency in Lok Sabha will be administered the oath by President A P J Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhawan at 0930 hrs on Friday, official sources said.
The induction of Ms Radhika Selvi comes in the wake of the resignation of Mr Maran, following the rift between him and the DMK leadership following the attack on the office of the Tamil daily 'Dinakaran' in Madurai owned by Mr Maran's elder brother Kalanidhi Maran.
Mr A Raja, who was the Environment and Forest minister in the Manmohan Singh government has been given the Communications and Information Technology portfolio, earlier held by Mr Maran.
As Mr Raja moved to his new ministry, Mr S Reghupathy, Minister of State for Home was shifted to the Environment and Forests Ministry in the same capacity.
