Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) A local court today reserved its order till May 18 on the prosecution's application requesting for cancellation of bail granted to gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli by a lower court in a misappropriation case.

After hearing both the parties at length, additional sessions judge P D Vishwashrao reserved the order till Friday.

The Economic Offence Wing (EoW) of Mumbai police had moved an application seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Gawli by the lower court. Gawli had been granted bail upon furnishing a bond amount and a surety of Rs one lakh each.

According to the prosecution, Gawli, who is the president of Akhil Bharatiya Kamgar Sena (ABKS), was to disburse Rs four crore among employees of two companies who were members of his union. The amount had been granted by the two companies as payment of arrears to the employees following negotiations held by ABKS with the management. However, Gawli had allegedly siphoned off the money from the bank account for personal use. The misappropriation is to the tune of Rs 87 lakh, according to the complaint against Gawli.
