New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi, who conducted over 100 roadshows as a star campaigner of the Congress in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, today said his party made a poor showing in the Assembly elections because the party organisation in the State was very weak.

"We lost because of the organisational weakness," he said in his first reaction to the party's poll debacle in which the Congress ended up winning only 22 seats, three short of the party's tally of 25 in the last Assembly elections, out of the 402 seats for which elections were held.

Asked whether he would go back to Uttar Pradesh again to galvanise the party, he told a TV channel that he would certainly do so to revive the party in the State.

Mr Gandhi gave his reaction as he was entering the Parliament precincts to attend a General Body Meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party(CPP), addressed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
