Co-operative Bank Employees observe fast

Chennai, May 16 (UNI) Members of the the Co-operative Bank Employees Federation, affiliated to the Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI), led by General Secretary T Tamilarasu observed a day's fast here today.

In a statement Mr Tamilarasu said their demands included fixing the basic pay linked with 1684 index points as in the case of District Central Co-operative Bank employees, 10 per cent uniform pay hike for all, wage settlement duration to be fixed once in 5 years and promotional opportunities.

They also demanded the constitution of a Co-operative Commission, to implement the model Co-operative Act.

Similar agitations were held all over Tamil Nadu today, he added.
