Civic-staffs' strike enters day 3

Tirupati, May 16 (UNI) As part of state-wide indefinite strike call given by municipal workers and employees, civic services were hit for the third day today in Chittoor district.

As many as 10,000 municipal employees and workers from seven municipalities of - Srikalahasti, Puttur, Nagari, Madanapalli, Palamanur, Punganoor and Chittoor and Corporation of Tirupati - were participating in the strike, demanding 13 charted demands.

Tirupati Corporation Commissioner Sakala Reddy told UNI that all necessary steps were taken for providing civic services to the public, by engaging private workers if the civic staff were continuing the strike.
