CID Crime moves court to effect arrest in fake encounter case
Ahmedabad, May 16 (UNI) Gujarat CID (crime) today moved a local court, seeking arrest of seven absconding IPS officers, allegedly involved in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin and his wife Kauser Bi.
They moved the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court here under section 70 of the criminal procedure code so that police could attach their properties, if they did not turn up at the police station.
The officers are Deputy Superintendent of Police M L Parmar, PI Balkrishna Rajendra Prasad Chaube, PI V A Rathod, PI Abdul Rehman Sheikh and sub-inspectors N V Chauhan and Himanshusingh Rajavan from Gujarat and police sub inspector Shyamsingh Jaysingh Chavda from Rajasthan police. They were party to the alleged encounter of Sohrabuddin, allegedly carried out by a joint team of Gujarat and Rajasthan police in November 2005.
