Badal meets PM in connection with Jallianwala Bagh Trust meeting

Chandigarh, May 16 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal today met the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi in a pre scheduled meeting to discuss various issues regarding Jallianwala Bagh Project.

The meeting of Jallianwala Bagh Trust of which Prime Minister is the chairman lasted for about 90 minutes.

Later the Chief Minister used this occasion to apprise Prime Minister of Punjab Government's concern over the role being played by certain elements in making political capital at the expense of peace in the state.

The Chief Minister specially requested the Prime Minister to use his stature and good office to dissuade those trying to inflame passions.

Mr Badal also apprised the Prime Minister of the fact that despite highly delicate situation, the Punjab Government was successful in maintaining peace throughout the state and localizing the problem.
