40,988 duplicate PAN in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 16 (UNI) Out of 28,44 370 Permanent Account Number (PAN) issued by the Income Tax Department in Rajasthan, 40,988 was found duplicate and the Income Tax Department is in the process of scrutinising the PAN cards to delete the duplicate numbers.

Income Tax Chief Commissioner Jaipur SC Kapil stated this at a press conference here today.

He said a scrutiny of the PAN cards has been carried out and 37,753 duplicate PAN numbers, out of a total of 40, 988 found till now, have been discarded.
