25 doctors in Rajasthan banned for conducting MTP

Jaipur, May 16 (UNI) Rajasthan Medical Council has banned 25 gynaecologists and 3 Radiologists from conducting medical termination of pregnancy(MTP) and sonography for their alleged involvement in female foeticide.

The ban will be in force till the inquiry into the female foeticide charge exposed by a TV channel is completed, said Dr Sanjya Sharma, registrar of the Council.

Dr Sharma said the council, after a preliminary enquiry, has found the actions of the doctors malafide and referred the matter to the Panel Ethical Committee for action which recommended a ban on the doctors till the enquiry is completed, said Dr Sharma.
