20 killed in a bus-truck collision in Uttar Pradesh

Badaun, UP, May 16: At least 20 people were killed and over 35 passengers were injured when a speeding bus collided head-on with a truck under Dhanari area on the Aligarh-Moradabad highway in the district today.

Police sources here said the accident occurred near Tata Chemical factory at Majhola village. The ill-fated UP Roadways bus was coming from Agra when the accident occurred.

Senior officials have rushed to the spot while the injured have been admitted to hospitals at Badaun, Aligarh and Etah.

All the deceased and injured were the passengers of the bus. The driver and cleaner of the truck, however, managed to escape after the accident.
