Three Maoists killed in encounter
Dehri-On-Sone, May 15 (UNI) Three Maoist rebels were killed in an encounter with the police at Kaimur forest in Bihar's Rohtas district today.
Deputy police superintendent Mithilesh Kumar said acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a hideout in dense Kaimur forest area to arrest some CPI (Maoist) extremists there. As the police approached near the area, the rebels opened fire at them which was retaliated. Three Maoists were killed in the firing.
Some associates of the slain Maoists managed to escape with the bodies, Mr Kumar said.
Raids were being carried out to nab other extremists hiding in the forest.
