Slain BSP MLA's mother welcomes CBI probe

Allahabad, May 15 (UNI) The mother of slain former BSP MLA from Allahabad (West) Raju Pal, Rani Pal has welcomed the CBI probe into her son's murder case.

''I am hopeful of getting justice in the case. I would only be satisfied when the accused are hanged,'' she said here.

On January 26, 2005, Pal was murdered by unidentified armed miscreants in Chauphataka area, when he was proceeding to his home in a jeep.

SP MP from Phoolpur Atiq Ahmad and his brother Mohd Ashraf, who is a former MLA from Allahabad (West), are the main accused in the murder case.

Pal's wife Pooja got elected from the same seat after defeating Ashraf in the just concluded UP assembly election.
