Raju makes Rs 35 lakh deal with a Gujarati woman: Rasheed

Hyderabad, May 15 (UNI) Rasheed, one of the kingpins in the sensational human trafficking racket, today revealed that Raju Pitti, another alleged kingpin in the scam and gone missing, had taken Rs 35 lakh deal with a Gujarati woman to send her to the US with a fake passort in the name of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA K Lingaiah's wife.

According to the police sources here, Rasheed, who was in the police custody, confessed that Raju Pitti had offered Rs Six lakh to him and Rs 14 lakh to the TRS MLA for assisting him in sending Gujarati woman Sangeeta Patil (28), wife of Jagadish Patel of Gandhi Nagar, to America. But, Pitti did not give money to him even after he made arrangements.

Stating that TRS MLA, Ms Patil went to Chennai US Consulsate on February 21 to get visas along with him, the alleged kingpin said all of them have met at the house of Mr Lingaiah and agreed the deal prepared by Pitti.

The TRS MLA was already arrested in connection with the human smuggling scam and was in judicial custody.

The sources said Rasheed was facing health problems due to ulcers and other ailments since he surrendered before the police on May three.
