Rahul's efforts to pay dividends in 2009-Gehlot

Ajmer, May 15 (UNI) Congress General Secretary and former Rajasthan Chief Minsiter Ashok Gehlot today claimed that the good work done by the party MP Rahul Gandhi during campaigning in UP assembly elections, would pay dividends to the party in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a public meeting in Kishangarh near here Mr Gehlot, incharge of party affairs in Uttar Pradesh, said the initiatives taken by Rahul Gandhi would yield results in the Lok Sabha elections in 2009.

He reiterated his party's resolve to continue to fight against communal and casteist political forces at all costs.

Charging the Vasundhara Raje Government in Rajasthan with failure in providing governance to the people, Mr Gehlot said the present government had failed miserably to control law and order, carrying out drought relief measures effectively and curbing corruption in public life.

Contrary to this, the previous Congress government had managed the relief measures in famine hit areas very effectively and provided relief to the needy.
